Montague Tours with a Difference – Meal with a Seal!

We head out to Montague Island through the Batemans marine park. Keep an eye out for flying fish and dolphins and whales (in season). Once at the island we will take a cruise around the different locations where the Australian and New Zealand fur seals hang out and we will pick out the best location to drop anchor so we are in a sheltered location to sit down and admire these wonderful puppies of the sea whilst eating your selection of our local freshly prepared meals.

Our freshly prepared lunches showcase the best of what our local region has to offer, made on a daily basis for you to enjoy.

Montague Island – a magical place

Montague Island remains a magical place – rich in history and rich in life. It has a permanent fur seal colony of Australian and New Zealand seals- varying in number from about 200 to over 1000 depending on the time of year. In spring, tens of thousands of birds make Montague their home during the breeding season and thousands of breeding pairs of little penguins live permanently on the island. On your charter trip out to this unique island nature reserve you might spot little penguins, turtles, dolphins, flying fish and sunfish in the waters. You are sure to be delighted by the seals frolicking in the water and lazing on the rocks.

Come and experience this beautiful island, see the penguin nests, visit the keeper’s house and marvel at the magnificent view from the top of the lighthouse.

We offer National Parks and Wildlife Services guided charter tours of Montague Island, which can include a visit to the fur seals for afternoon tea and snorkelling with Australian and New Zealand fur seals. Of course, whale watching is included from September to November. It is the ultimate wildlife experience!
